Mycosynthetix is currently developing Mevalocidin, a new herbicidal natural product from fungal fermentation, for use in organic farming. The US Patent for Mevalocidin (PDF) was issued on July 1st, 2008. Dow AgroSciences LLC of Indianapolis and Mycosynthetix Inc have entered into a royalty-bearing agreement for Mycosynthetix to develop and market this herbicide.
